Barnyard/Shade Tree Front Wheel Change

I like your tire setup! Do I see that right ... Is that a 'static' balancer? ... nothing wrong with that, been doing it since years like that ... now we have a 'Cycle Gear' in town and if I order my tires there ... they come to the store and for a few bucks they do the mounting/balancing for me ... I am getting older ... and lazier ;)

It is a static balencer. It’s from Marc Parnes and is a very popular balancer.
 
I'm working through the above and now stuck trying to get the axle out. Just doesn't seem to want to budge. Can't see in any progress of it moving out from the RHS fork. Not quite sure it is a 'quick release' axle as it suggests. I've tried different jack settings and still no luck. Tried a long socket to tap from the LHS. The wheel is loose so something is moving. If I eventually get it out I'll re-post. I'll be replacing the original Michelin with an Metzeler ME888 Ultra Marathon.

... All 4 of them? I missed the inner 2 first and was also wondering what was going on ... It should come out real easy.
I am just about ready to change again as well 9000 miles (good miles) and I am down to the wear bars at the sides .... This was a Cruisetec... I am thinking about a Marathon this time

Thanks all. Yep, was the inner clamping bolts. Surprising how easy it came out when I loosened them. I won't make the same mistake again.
 
Well 8500 miles and I think I need a new tire ...

The 'Cruisetek' rode well ... but wore a bit funny ... so I went with a 'Marathon Ultra' this time ...

Well that looks much better ... let's see how many miles that one will stay good ;)
