Bike
R18CLS, R1250RS, R100RT, R80 Custom, R90S
I rented a Classic for a 6 day trip in the Southwest about two years ago. It was intended to be a test to see if I could get along with the r18. I did not jump right in at the time, but the bike was constantly in my mind. With some dealers dropping prices so much, I finally grabbed one.

As stated above, nice color, now about that seat, My first 100+ mile trip convinced me to buy a Corbin saddle. Night and day difference!
There are many choices out there for seating, but experiences with Corbin in the past were always positive.

Congratulations and welcome. I love the color of your bike and every time I see a red R18 I do an internal debate about whether I should have gone red. I would put some white Pinscriping on it and always wonder how that would look.

Thanks for the tip! I am pretty familiar with the downside of the factory seat. 😉.

It is tolerable, but not awesome...

Thanks for the Corbin recommendation. Two of my airheads had aftermarket seats. One Corbin and one Russel. Both caused some hip and upper leg pain, but I suspect that has more to do with the bike geometry and mine being incompatible with the "tractor bucket" design of those models. The R18 should be low enough that it would not be an issue and I will definitely look into them.

I may let you know. There were three R18s I was looking at. This one, another red which had black stripes, and an all black one. This was the only one at my local dealer, and the price was close enough that it was not worth the drive to the other two, but I do love the strips on red. One of my Paint guys does great pin striping and I may take it down to him to get them done.

Hi justabill and welcome. Hope you enjoy your new ride. I think I know you from the nine-t forum, I have a different name over there, rocket rick. you're going to like that ride I have ridden one for two years now and still smiling.

Hey XUMERX,
The red, black and chrome looks terrific. I eyeballed that bike for quite a while before getting the anniversary edition.
The first mod I did was buy the "Weekender" seat, and oh what an improvement.
Then I tweaked the seat one more time. I placed two washers on each side under the seat front bracket lifting the front of the seat just a smidge.
If you place a 2" extension on the handle bar clamps, it will reduce the reach nicely.
