The R18 platform has a very low ground clearance stance, especially compared to a GS Adventure bike; I can't imagine what it would take leverage wise, if such a contraption was developed for the R18 as a center stand.

I check mine with my phone recording a video while I hold the bike upright. What idiot engineer designed a bike that requires so much work, just to check the oil?
So much for brilliant German engineering.
You shouldn't compain.............hook up a Hannigan sidecar to the right side of the bike and then look for that inspection window. At least I don't have to do too much to have it setting upright. The cell phone has been my solution for several years and sidecar rigs.

A few months ago went on a tour with a couple of HD guys and every morning I'd check my oil level; they really gave me a good ribbing when I had to ask one of them to sit on the bike while I got down on my hands and knees to see the sightglass!

I typically check my oil at the end of the day or at the end of a long weekend ride; I'll put my bike on the KERN-STABI stand, and inspect the oil viewing glass with the bike perpendicular to the ground.

I think it's best to verify the oil level once the oil is at temperature.
