Is it possible to adjust the idle speed when the motorcycle is in first gear?
The RPMs rise slightly. I'd like them to stay at the same speed as in neutral.

I have an OBDII scanner and a Motoscan scanner.

Thanks

I asked the BMW dealer to increase my idle speed from 900 rpm to 1050. The said they couldn't do that because it was set at the factory. Really?, a BMW service tech could not tweak the idle up a 1,000 rpm?

I smell a rat.

It’s an anti stall measure, modern Hondas have it amongst many other Jap bikes. When you select 1st the rpm’s automatically rise by a few hundred rpm’s, to anticipate you pulling away or doing things like three point turns. Have no idea whether it can be overcome by after market tuners, if nobody with the Brentune has even noticed it I guess not.

Afaik there is no way other than a total flash as BT offers, to change anything.
One member has recently observed to have found access to 90 different mappings but that is sofar out of all context.

I thought I read somewhere that Bren tune increases the idle speed. It's one of the methods it uses to remove the rocking at idle. Am I confused about that?

My bren tuned bike idles at 950rpm in neutral.... for the most part..... maybe see 900 for a brief second.... in gear and idling along in gear (1st to 3rd) maybe 1150 to 1200.

More gradual throttle mapping as well.... maybe soft limiters as well.... hard to tell.
More gentle throttle opening slope no doubt and probably ditto ignition advance.
As such ´rough´ idling/response is a féature.

Same the rev increase upon rev selection being an intentional anti-stall. I think it desirable as it is no fun, potentially unsafe, to stall the engine upon taking of from say a traffic light.

I appreciate the old skool roughness and if I need it to be a bit less so, like going up the narrow stéép switchbacks* of p.e. from the south tup the Puerto del Sol pass, the Roll program helps me out.

* steeper, tighter, more narrow than the Stelvio hairpins and just on the other side of the right now snowed white mountains I see from the kitchen window.

Very VERY annoyed that the machine shop is delaying the completion of the sidecar. Looking forward to driving those passes. With my son´s car I need to slide it through some of those hairpins to avoid boggng the engine down.

Now with snow, is perfect for a nightl visit to https://www.google.es/maps/place/Ba...try=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI2MDMwNS4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw== so it will have to be with the car
