When fastening the brake and clutch lines, is it okay to use aluminum crush washers or are they too soft? I see aluminum used for drain plugs but copper is used for the hydraulic lines. Reason I'm asking....fresh out of copper crush washers.

Copper is a malleable metal vs Aluminum which often leads to cracks and fractures due to its rigidity characteristics..

Perhaps consider reusing the existing Copper washer in a pinch..?

I typically order 4 to 5 extra washers when purchasing supplies for DIY maintenance task..

In a bind - soften and reuse.
Routine maintenance - replace.
