, I'm looking for tank pads for the TC that will work with the pin striping. Most seem shaped for the smaller R18 and Classic tanks. Where are yours from?

It's the Homage seat, mounted about 1" higher on skateboard bushes for more "give". I sometimes add 20mm of gel capped with the dead sheep for longer rides. Plenty on this seat if you search "homage".

My first post here but hopefully some will find it useful. Thought I would post my experience with the install of the factory BMW Homage riders seat and what I think of it overall.

So I ordered the seat a bit ago. It finally showed and upon opening the box, found there is no mounting hardware that goes with it. Separate purchase. So unlike BMW right? lol.

Ok, so I order the mount. Got it in super quick actually and had some time today to install. Well, no instructions....anywhere. Not on line in accessory list etc., not in the box as one would think, nothing. Called dealer and...

The seat looks good but seems excessively expensive, but I am worth it. Its the comfort and seat height and you say, both are good. I sat on a Wunderlich bobber seat a couple weeks ago and wasn't impressed with hard edges of the seat. seemed no padding. but the height and exposed coil springs are great. Again, very pricey.

at euromoto the homage seat set is good vfm I think. Very pleased with it.

I ordered one with mounting plate for stock rear fender. $510 including shipping. New, from BMW dealer here in USA! Should be here fairly soon but you never know. Coming by US Postal Service.

My issue with these plates is this: When you're moving, the airflow OVER those plates is in fact sucking air OUT from the inside.

I doubt you'll see any improvement on a dyno unless factors are being played with but unfortunately a dyno is with the bike stationary so will not be realistic.

I applaud your efforts even though Petrus has been there before you.

'sucking air OUT from the inside' is the point. The hot air is being sucked out as fresh and cooler air comes in from the front. "Nature abhors a vacuum"

Still playing, the scoops were not long enough to cover the plate length.... so have to bond them to a plate.... just playing around with the shape of the plate.... not sure of the look.... but might as well finish them and see.... will use black bolts eventually.

I like your idea ... and the looks ... but just to play 'Devil's Advocate' here ... I take it you don't ride in the rain? ... or maybe it doesn't rain much where you are, it doesn't in my neck of the woods ... still IMO wouldn't the engine also suck in a fair amount of water this way?

Look at the original gills. ´Same´thing.
Unless you drown the thing fording, it will be ok.
´Vroegah´ bikes breathed in even without the filter housing like the R18 has; just through a gauze or nothing even. The only problem was freezing up; the evaporating fuel extracting heath from the water droplets, causing the to freeze the venturi. No such issue today.

I like your idea ... and the looks ... but just to play 'Devil's Advocate' here ... I take it you don't ride in the rain? ... or maybe it doesn't rain much where you are, it doesn't in my neck of the woods ... still IMO wouldn't the engine also suck in a fair amount of water this way?

Rains not a real issue here (retired fair weather land).... just need to be mindful with the hose when washing. Front engine housing vents are the same'ish I guess.... though one would suspect they are properly engineered to only introduce water into an area designed for that happening.... not so much the side of the motor as per my thing.... though, as an ideas man, I could spray some paint thinner in there when I need to really rip....

This said I think with the front intakes (the original intakes) the fair low is designed so that the water is shed before getting sucked in ... snorkels and all ... well at least I hope so ... in any case I like the 'scoop' or 'ram-air' idea better than just simply opening it ... and if it doesn't work out it is very easily reversed!

In the version above I couldn't get the hole in the motor casing to line up with the carbon tube well enough.

So.... maybe the tube should be inverted (swapped side to side) so that the curve is in sympathy WITH the petrol tank......
