Maybe - depending on the length of your torso. On my bike it hits me right in the middle of my forehead - drove me crazy. I'm not that tall either , around 5'11". Made a few mods that helps. Vents in the windscreen helped and now I made some wedge spacers that tilt the windscreen slightly...
A little tip. You can tape the spare key to a strip of paper or cardboard and slip it under the seat to get it close to the antenna. This way you won't have to remove the seat.

I am fairly sure the threads are m10 X 1.5 - not sure of the length though. I was able to mount the same rack to my R18B and found metric allen head bolts to fit at my local Ace Hardware.
