    Wiring harness failure

Thanks Petr, I am out of warranty with quite a number of aftermarket mods. Let's see how BMW reacts. It would be great to get a picture of your cable whenever you get around doing this.

    Wiring harness failure

Hi Petr, That is disheartening to read. I have a similar problem after fitting a bobber kit which also came with Kellermann indicators. Ever since this was installed, the ABS and TCL warning lights come on after 20k's of riding. Engine can only be killed by the kill switch, the ignition switch...

Weird electrical fault - ABS and Traction control

Oh wow, thanks Scott for putting all of this together! And a Happy New Year to you. We have this as our last resort - it is a lot of work and I was just trying to see whether anyone has seen something similar. The bike has been fine up until the Bobber Kit was installed. I don't really know...

Weird electrical fault - ABS and Traction control

I have read through a few of the threads here and I am reading a lot of problems with wiring harnesses and other problems with the electronics. The problem I am experiencing isn't listed so in the hope that someone can help: I had custom bobber kit mounted (BMW can't get their act together in...

R18 Jekill & Hyde Install and Thoughts

Thanks you, this will come in handy. I have been wanting the J&H for ages but they weren't available in Australia. I finally came across Thorsten from BM Bikes in Perth and after e few email exchanges, he is now a dealer. Mine should arrive sometime this month and I can't wait. Give Thorsten a...

    Battery Terminal Connections!

Ah OK, that makes sense. I think this is a UK system fitted by the dealer. Would have been neat to have this. I have mine on a CANBUS tender all the time. The Germans love for electronics will drain the battery but in fairness, it is the same problem with HD.

    Battery Terminal Connections!

I am curious, what gizmo do you use that sends you a text when the battery is low?

    Jekill & Hyde Australia

H Happy to team up. I have tried a few dealerships in Perth to no avail. It would suit an Indian or maybe Triumph dealership best I guess. Not sure if Deus in Sydney would be game. Let's keep in touch.

    Jekill & Hyde Australia

They unfortunately don't deal direct. I have been in touch with them already. I will keep on trying to find someone.

Thanks, they look good but this would be my second choice. The side pipes look but but this is an after warranty exercise for me. I really like the Freedom Sharktails but they sound awful. Which one of the Hattech did you get and did you order direct from Germany?

The first bike I rode was my dads R27 after I got my license. I love the old BMW bikes. They are beautiful.

    Jekill & Hyde Australia

I would love to get my hands on the JH exhaust for the R18 but there are no dealers in Australia. Does anyone know someone who'd be keen, ideally on the west coast :-) I tried the local Indian dealer and a few others but no joy. There are some local shops doing custom exhaust but they sound...

    Bike not starting

I have similar issues with my First Edition. I sometimes don't get to ride it and I leave it on a CTEK charger. It always has issues jumping to live after 4-6 weeks, needs cranking three or four times and has a really rough start. It is due for the next service soonish but would be keen to hear...

    Anger on Facebook over Accessories

Yep, they managed to stuff up another entry into the cruiser market, second time round. Now they have the bike but chose not to communicate with customers. BMW Germany equally just throws their hands up in the air although at least they try to communicate...
