What did you do to your R18 today?

It's all back together and running great. valves sound better than pre-adjustment. I changed all the fluids too. The only thing I don't like, sounds like alternator drive belt is a little squeaky sounding/dry. Anybody run into this? I may need a little silicone on it to quiet the thing up but...

Recall? On all models with Reverse

Recall reverse parts aren't here yet in the states. I had ordered a couple small parts from Haps in Sarasota Fl. and they called yesterday. I asked about the fix and was told "no word yet" He said he would check as they didn't know the fix was in the U.K. and Canada.

    Customs R18

Where did the cylinder/coil covers come from? I like the ribbed design, are they tin or aluminum? They would look good in my opinion natural aluminum/raw.

Awesome machine only problem for me is top heavy weight. The power is addicting and super smooth. They eat tires too, especially the front because of weight.

    Final drive leak repair question.....

Yup that's the story, but if you do have a leak it won't fix it. My ride had seal pinion seal replaced under warranty after trying lower fluid level first. The first repair wasn't performed properly and did not seal. It was done again by HAPS cycle sales in Sarasota FL. It is holding for now. I...

What specifically is done on 600 mile dealership initial service?

I did my own and spent less than a 100. The final drive and transmission fluids were about 25 maybe. all the leftover money goes to beer and more accessories. I don't mind, I like doing these things. If your close enough I will help you too.

    Question Dealership valve checks

I will adjust my own, They need looking at for sure. Intake valves seem to tighten/strech while the exhaust will do the rattling/ticking. I remember those old V.W. engines were air cooled also. If you let the intake valves get tight, then adjust lots of times they broke. Causing catastrophic damage.
