    Removing muffler Baffles.

Search this thread ‘R18 TC with drilled out exhaust baffles video.’ I’ve recently done the exact mod, it was very straightforward (using the correct hole cutter etc) and I’m very happy with the end result. It’s all on there 👍

Need Help I'm wondering how to effectively remove stone chips and scratches.

Hello. Tricky one that. My last R18FE front cover was chrome and my current Roctane is painted gloss black, so marks do show up, it’s inevitable really. If your matte silver is a satin type finish I definitely would NOT try to use any abrasive on it like steel wool you will ruin it. Way too...

That’s it exactly, short shift it. There’s no point holding onto high rpm’s on a long run because it’s not pleasant. The gearing is very tall on these bikes, ride the sweet spot and it’s effortless, silky smooth.

    Reverse

On the open road stick it in ‘Roll’ if you want less vibration and a smoother experience. BMW have no doubt designed this bike to be exactly the way it is, it’s one of its biggest charms, it feels like a big engine not a food blender.

19” to 21” front wheel conversion

That does look great, expect you will notice a touch more ground clearance on tight bends, maybe a different feel too.

Is it possible to retrofit reverse gear on R18 Basic?

Didn’t know that. Knowledge is power 💪👍

Is it possible to retrofit reverse gear on R18 Basic?

I don’t recall a thread from anyone on the forum retro fitting the reverse to their bike but I’m sure it must be possible, like everything though it’s all about cost. As far as I know the starter motor does the reversing, there is only one motor. In simple terms, when you reach down to...

Allow motorcycles in bus lanes as default. One for the UK members.

Done. 👍. Tbh Anibal I avoid them (bus lanes) because I’m paranoid about picking up a ticket/fine, Hull is my nearest city and it’s plastered with CCTV cameras, bus lanes, cycle lanes (empty), traffic calming bollards, humps, one way routes and on top of that time restrictions when certain bits...

FYI - Compatibe battery maintenance chargers

This has already been covered on the forum in detail Geo, if you do a search on the forum you’ll find all the threads. Optimate 4 CAN-bus is a popular choice 👍

Is it possible to retrofit reverse gear on R18 Basic?

Don’t think I’ve ever come across a UK bike without reverse, my understanding was it was only the US that had the option on the reverse, not sure why, could be wrong, probably am….

R18 TC with drilled out exhaust baffles video

Ok, update. Decided to go for it, tried a 1 3/8” hole saw which fit nicely down the yap but it just wouldn’t cut, I think the stainless welded joint on the end of the tube was too hard. So I tried the 1 1/8” and that went through like butter, made a lovely neat job. Perfect. Like others before...
