I AM SO EXCITED! It’s FREAKING beautiful.

Thanks. I wish I could speak with more authority but it’s just not in my nature. I’m always happy that people even watch them and those that find them helpful.

Are you referencing my remarks? I’m always self-deprericating and super self-aware about my video styles. Here’s the god-honest truth. My GS Adventure has about $21,000 USD worth of farkles on it. I’m the last person to tell someone they need to spend that much modifying their $20,000 bike. I’ve...

    Bike Week?

Hi R2K. I’ll let you know if I come down. Waiting for the 24 hour forecast to clear up. The R18 is looking gorgeous after being detailed and I’m seeing some spots of rain so we’ll see.

    Bike Week?

Oh man, 500 miles is nothing! I've done many 1000 mile days and just one 1100 mile 2-day ride on the R18. No problem getting down there in one go. I just have to stop for an hour to attend a Zoom meeting at a rest stop then back at it. I've passed by O Steen's for years when I lived in St...

    Bike Week?

I moved to NC from NH so now Bike Week is within reach. I’m from St. Augustine so my family has a spare room for me. I figured I’d pop down to bike week Saturday and Sunday and see what’s going on. Anyone else going to be there?

What did you do to your R18 today?

Camping trip with a few BMWs. Two R18s were there. I was on my GS (sorry) but it's because the weather was nasty and I didn't want to get the R18 dirty. These two didn't mind:

    100th Anniversary R18 Value

They really should number them. There was a car issue a few years back where I think it was Lamborghini who made more cars than they stated and owners who were sharing online their vin numbers one day were like "we were told there were 150 of these but there are 250 of us owners on this Facebook...

    Thanks for the report!

Oh, i see yeah that makes sense. Just using the OEM strap mounts. Good idea. I emailed them for a quote. I’m hoping to do a very long weekend soon just a miles run, maybe another iron butt ride just to re-set my stamina and I’d like the backrest.

    Show us your phone mounts!

If I knew where I was, I’d be with you but I have Garmin on my GS & dirt bike and I use the phone for navigation on the R18. I just need them for trips or else I’d be lost. Funny enough, I’m 36 and when I got to BMW rallies, the mature gentlemen will (kindly) say “Oh just hop on 36 and go 25...

    Bagger owners, the winglets work!

I was hoping to future proof the setup, I wish I knew the iPhone 12 worked. I did an 11. Even the iPhone X and XS still support the latest OS so I was just hoping to give myself a few years. I always sell my iPHones before upgrading.

    Bagger owners, the winglets work!

Bench flashing the system’s ECU is what they’re doing and it’s a 2-3 hour process. One dealer lamented to me their headaches of having it fail which supposedly happens quite often. Any disruption in the server in Berlin and the update will fail. They learned this the hard way trying once to do...

    Bagger owners, the winglets work!

I am no longer using the TFT system for anything other than turning on my heated grips :( I wish it was fully featured even without a smart phone like having a built in map, tachometer, other stats like lean angle but no, just a dumb-display at this point.

New Owner in Snow Country (da U.P.)

Welcome! I did a week in UP last May and loved it. I was on a GS and did ATV trails and dirt roads. It was some rrally great riding up there.

Anyone running blind spot mirrors on the stock mirrors? Recommendations?

Is this the right listing? https://www.amazon.com/Round-Convex-Glass-Mirror-Diameter/dp/B076QJT1R5 that will probably do it. Smart and much more classy to just have one piece of glass with a wider FOV.
