Exactly, this is the chart I used for starters. I had visions of Rhonda taking delivery and the prospect of an oversight ;) This dealer sounds like they have their A game..
Here is the rundown Pete: On the left is the ”Tall Seat” (Embroidered vs BMW Badge FE on the right.) Looking at the seats turned over, the left is the tall seat if you want to see part numbers. The right is the Original First Edition. The passenger seat fits fine with either. I felt the tall...
Welcome aboard ! Congrats. I would plan on the low fuel light coming on at 140 Miles. I pushed mine to 178 miles (38miles with the light on) yesterday. I put 4.25 Gal of 92 Octane Ethanol Free. I must have been close.
Pre-Ride Check: You’ll want to take a 13mm socket and extension to adjust...
Hey Pete…I’ll be able to tell you this weekend. I own a 21/FE. Did not like the stock seat, and picked up the Tall Seat on eBay shipped for $249. So far, huge improvement. That said, the dealer ordered me a Brown DayRider at cost that arrived today. I’ll shoot some pics of all three, and will do...
Today was the first ride with the rear suspension sorted and the “Tall Seat” installed. I watched the attached vid, then promptly saved the search on EBay. The Tall Seat has an embroidered logo. $200 + Shipping later, and I could not be happier. The Tall Seat may be the same as the Classic. The...

Can’t go wrong…I think the wheel size/tire aspect ratio is relative. I imagine there will be a growing number of exhaust options coming on line, and take off availability.
+1 Both great bikes. Jumped on late FE w/cruise. Otherwise, Classic is well equipped. I do like 19” wheel and like the bagger front fender as next mod..
Calling it like it is. I have two BMW cars in the fleet now, and 16 that I purchased Open MSO’s. Entitled boomer. I’m optimistic BMW NA will get their act together with accessories. The Bike is Fantastic. I went in to demo an R1250R, and jumped on the R18 afterwards. R18 had me at Berlin Built.
Well done ! Welcome aboard. Did they ask you to ride out to 200 miles ? My dealer had me actually bring the bike back to validate over 200 on the odometer. Playing it by the book…
