    2025 R 18 Review

Love the new black chrome pipes.. Beautiful color scheme. Won’t be long before people are looking for those pipes and the seat for older models. Seat looks like an improvement certainly.

BMW gives up the R18 !!!!

What do you even mean? Click bait on YouTube I expect but on a forum not. Any real sources?

Front tire bumps on Michelin Commander III

I’m not sure that is cupping. That is a bulge through the belts of the tire. Probably fractured belts maybe allowing that to happen. That is at high risk for a catastrophic blow out. Your tires are the old version of the commander 3 which Michelin started to replace in 2021 because of the...

    Helmet suggestions

I echo that. Anything bigger than a xl will narrow your choices. If you have a 3xl pumpkin head like me then you will have to search and may not get the exact helmet you want.

1st post, love the look of the R18. Confused over current used pricing First Edition & Classic 2021.

The reason the R18 is marked so low here in the USA is multifactorial: 1. The cruiser market and motorcycle market in general is in a slump. You can find Indians and HD cruisers marked down from new and lightly used as well. 2. The USA cruiser market is dominated by Indian and HD cruisers...

    Helmet suggestions

1500 encompasses virtually every helmet out there. The most expensive helmet I own is the HJC RPHA 1N Senin It is an excellent helmet. It is ECE certified and has excellent aerodynamics. Very quiet and high end quality. Shoei makes excellent helmets. The one you mention is only DOT...

    Helmet suggestions

Need to know your price range and what is important to you. DOT is an easy approval. Some helmets have Snell and the latest ECE approval. Others even have MIPS technology as well. So figure out your price range and know how well tested for safety you want your helmet. Those two things will...

Heidenau K34 Arrow Tires on Classic Anyone?

I don’t know man! Seems like that tread would wear funny and be loud. But what do I know I’m no tire engineer! I would do some serious research before buying. OR you can buy a set and be the guinea pig for all of us and report back. 😃. I like Michelin. For the most part they make real...

    New to bmw

Here is my advice: Love it for what it is. It is a homage to prior BMW history. You are riding a rolling piece of art. It does many things well but it also has disadvantages that have been well documented. Learn about the boxer history. Learn about the older models that this bike is based...

Vinyl wrapped the intake covers on my R18B to add some color today.

Wow that stands out! I’m not sure I would like the look personally but you did a great job. Looks really professional 👏 makes me think though of the possibilities…

    Exhaust Modified

💯 The physics of sound propagation and the biology of human hearing both make it very hard to tell where a motorcycle is coming from using noise alone. That’s why relying on noise as a safety tool is flawed. It’s even worse with low frequency sound. That propagates and diffuses in a spherical...

Which inner Tube for 180/65B16 on BMW R18 Classic??

I didn’t realize how hard to get they are. You should buy a few just in case if you plan on staying stock. I changed to the forged rims with the tubeless radials in the front and tubeless bias in the rear. Expensive! 🤷🏼‍♂️. But I like the look and you lose about 100 pounds of sprung weight...

Another reason to convert to tubeless.

    Information Becoming a ribber

Welcome. It’s a beautiful bike and beautiful pictures. And we all want to know what a “Ribber” is before we let you sign up into our exclusive little club 😃. I vote for someone who is obsessed with McRibs riding his or her cycle around in search of the next hit.

    Help with seating.

Well I bought the Wunderlich AKTIVKOMFORT Seat! For the rider alone. It is a significant improvement. I also bought their handlebar risers and had them installed. Still not perfect but I am dealing with an older body and being a little taller and heavier may hinder perfect balance. But I...

    Fuel Tank

A new tank from BMW is 3 grand but that won’t solve your problem unless you could put a bagger tank on. I have not seen any aftermarket tanks that would be compatible but I’m sure if there is a will there in a way. I am sure that would be a big expensive job though. Finding an independent shop...
