Search Wireless Phone Charger on the forum; a.couple of folks have tinkered around with the phone cubby and successfully printed some prototypes..

I wish I had a 3D printer and knowledge of the different materials that can be used to produce these ideas..

When you pull the phone cradle out of the center console space; it appears to offer a lot of space, not sure why BMW made it so complicated...

Found a local guy who can print the part. $20. This will be cool!

I have a lot of different variations I made while playing around experimenting with the thing.

At first I was focusing on just flat deals, that I could just lay my phone on (and hook up to the 12v power under there) - as you can see from some of my threads trying to identify the connectors.

I was making them for my iPhone with an inset in the top right for the camera bump... The version on the far left has a self-adhesive silicon layer on top that I was experimenting with too.

But ultimately I was worried about the vibration on my phone with it sitting right there above the motor, so I decided to just turn it to a basic cubby and make it a little deeper.
