What brand? How was the mounting?I think it looks good, I had the same pain using the B for commuting. I went with the chopped tour pack.
Does it have lights in this case? Always heard BMW makes it difficult to wire these up?Voici.
Why not just mount the original BMW top case rack? If you’re lucky, you’ll find enough mounting points for the Givi rack. If not, you can attach an alloy plate to it and then mount the Givi plate. That’s what I did for the Shad 59X top box, and it’s absolutely secure.advance
Looking at this rack, curious how much weight you've put on it. I know most will say a lawyer approved 20lbs, but that metal does look pretty thin...This was my solution for my Roctane: top case mount from that bolts up to the bike like on the TC and then a generic aluminum top case. Has not leaked once or shifted from its place.

That looks great man. Surprised by the apparent quality and paint match for a budget trunk like that. $88 on Amazon is a terrific price for anything that comes close to working! I have the same OEM mount on my r19b and I usually just tie a backpack to it on trips, which works fine. But for this price, I can see springing for the case! Does it feel sturdy enough for a rear passenger to lean on?Finally, I got some free time to work on adding the rear trunk storage to the Bagger and yesterday I took her out on 100+ miles riding on the interstate and back roads without any issues.
I may have killed the look of the Bagger but it sure beats strapping the laptop backpack and bento lunch box to the rear seat every time I want to ride her to work.![]()
Just got this rack in today. No instructions of course. The hardware with mine looks different. I assume the chrome spindles go in the holes toward the front on the bike, but the black spindles I have don't seem to have a single bolt included that will attach them to the holes toward the rear. I can't find a single pictures of anything on the internet of course.... and the company is 100% on China time with nothing but an email address. This was my solution for my Roctane: top case mount from that bolts up to the bike like on the TC and then a generic aluminum top case. I haven't had a passenger on with the top case but I wouldn't hesitate to lean against it while riding. That looks great man. Can you share a photo of what you received? It should be a straight forward install but I do remember having to figure out the correct combination of bolts and spacers provided.Just got this rack in today. No instructions of course. It is, but unless you find one used or wrecked, the total cost to buy one from BMW is north of $10,000.Does anyone know if the OEM Transcontinental Top Case Carrier mentioned in this thread is a direct bolt on to the R 18 B?
Thanks

Ahh, yes the TC trunk hardware is 100% compatible with the B.Oh no...I'm referring to JUST the carrier...not the trunk

Thank you sir! Now I just have to figure out which direction to take. Kind of leaning toward the Givi Maxia 5. Trying to get as much as I can from the states. Just got burned on the engine guard from Hornig (no fault of theirs). After paying for shipping...I was charged an ADDITIONAL 50 PERCENT from DHL because of it being made of steel. Wasn't ready for that. Didn't find out until the day before it was to arrive.Ahh, yes the TC trunk hardware is 100% compatible with the B.
