I was skeptical when a BMW technician first installed Metzler tires on my 2008 GS Adventure some years back, mostly because I've never heard of the Metzler brand; I've come to really like the quality of the brand and my past experiences with Metzler is what nudged me in their direction when it was time for new tires on my 2022 R18 B.

They stick well when cornering and provide an overall high confidence level when riding in the rain (not by choice...); the reduced resonance noise is just gravy on top of high quality tires..

I emailed Pirelli/Metzeler of North America about the reported high speed "wobble" issue discussed above. Here's their prompt reply: "Pirelli/Metzeler does not have any known issues with Cruisetec tires as of today. Thank you." Well that solves that, right? ;)

because I've never heard of the Metzler brand;
They´ve ´always´ been a top tier mótorcycle tyre brand in Europe, specifically NW Europe. They were at the front line of developing front and rear specific tyres when that was not a thing yet.
The Lasertech was quite an innovation:

The always needs some clarification. The factory was totally rebuilt after ww2 and making use of that, setting it up new, modern.
Per the 1978 reorganisation they specialised in motorcycle tyres only which was basically a confirmation of their product strength.
Currently they have an over 30% share of the German motorcycle market.

My Classic is on its second pair of Michelin Commanders that are great but of course I don’t know any different. My GS is on its second pair (soon to be third) of Metzeler Tourance Nexxt 2’s that have been superb. I replace at 10k miles mainly because of shouldering due to motorway riding, wet grip is excellent too. So I will definitely be considering Cruisetecs for my Classic when the Commanders need replacing. As the Classic has spoked rims it runs with tubes so I’m assuming I can run the Cruisetecs with tubes in although they are tubeless tyres (Commanders are tubeless too)?

I'm pretty sure I'll go with the Cruisetecs when the time comes. The OEM Bridgestone Battlecruise tires have good tread left, but beginning to flatten out which I think adds to my problem with ruts, grooves, cracks. On another note, I asked one of the BMW shops in my area what they charged to mount and balance tires if I was to take the wheels off and bring them in for replacement. $180 per tire! Maybe the service tech was dazed and confused? I'm going to buy my next set of tires from Cycle Gear and have them mount and balance them for $30 per tire.
