2024 R18 Roctane
I bought a 24 Roctane today, my first BMW. The bike is pretty great, but while I was waiting on the paperwork at the dealer I sat on a 24 B that they had. I prefer everything about the Roctane except for the handlebars. I really liked the feel of the B handlebars. They were almost beach bars compared to the mini apes of the Roctane. Have any of you heard of it’s possible to get the B handlebars and install them on a Roctane? Just seeing if I have options. Thanks!

Here are a couple links I wrote for installing TC bars on my Classic. Depending on how much reach you are wanting, you might first try the 2" extenders that many others have installed. And for an additional bit of reach, you can install the Wunderlich 1" risers which will rise the bars up, but also angle them back toward you some.. If that is still not enough, you can swap the bars like I did. I later did some modifications (second link) to get them back in just a touch for the perfect fit.

Hope this helps.

I found a pic online that matches what I'm looking for:

The article mentioned that this was a Classic but it also says that it has "accessory bars". I'm wondering if those are OEM beach bars? I've contacted Wunderlich to see if their bars fit the Roctane. I can live with chrome though black bars would be preferred.

Last question, are the 2 inch extenders OEM?

Thanks again

TC bars are simply the OEM bars that come on the Trans Continental (R18 TC). The bars on the R18B are the same but black instead of chrome.

No, I'm not aware of BMW offering any. I believe they are all aftermarket. The one's I bought online were likely made in China, but were actually pretty good. They fit rather nicely, no issues.

I want to do the same thing, if you have a plan to do it, please share. I'm trying to do that swap and add the OEM windshield, but the windshield looks like it's going to take a lot of modifications to get it done. I wish it was just a configurator type of thing. I found out that the Wunderlich bars don’t fit so the option I went with was the Motorrad beach bars. I hesitated because the wiring is external, but then so are the mini apes that came stock. I considered doing it myself since I’ve swapped lots of Harley and Indian bars, but I decided to let the dealer do it. More money but less chance of me screwing it up. The bike is there now and they said it would be a couple of weeks. I’ll let you know what was done, how it works and how much it costs when it’s back home.

A couple of us on here have installed beach bars. I kept my wires external, routed along the brake/clutch lines. Other folks have drilled holes and routed the wires inside the bars. There they OEM and should fit the Roctane. They also come in black or chrome. I did the work myself, not hard at all. There are threads about this.

I bought aftermarket beach bars because the Motorrad prices are a bit exclusive. I bought new wiring but didn't use them when I realised the brake/clutch fit on the 1 inch section, and grips fit the 22mm, making the fit shorter than expected. I drilled the bars same as original (take care to de-bur inside edges) and routed the wires internal. A bit of push and pull with WD40 in the bars and draw wires but not too hard. Original mirrors turned upside-down. Most comfortable bars I've ever had.

Which brand of bars did you get?

Update. 2 weeks at the dealer. The bars have been installed but they found a problem with the turn signals. They are designed for the turn down of the mini apes so the wires that came with the kit don’t fit. They are going to make an extension for the wires. Hopefully no more than another week. Glad I didn’t try the install myself
