BMW R18 Classic
Hi all! I’ve been an observer of the R18 for years. I’m late to riding, 45+ and just starting out. Been riding for 3 years now and started off on a Kawasaki Vulcan S. It had the same engine I got my license on, so light and manageable for a new rider, but the cruiser look and feel I wanted since childhood. We have surprisingly few options for cruisers in Europe. But the R18 had already caught my eye. Such a beauty in design and performance, but I didn’t feel ‘ready’ for it. When I was in India for work in October last year I saw one parked at a diner and after marveling at it, I started googling available offers again. Took me until May 2025 to find one nearby. After a test drive it was all done; I had to have it. It is such an amazing machine, such a gorgeous bike and I’m so very happy with my 2023 R18 Classic. 😊 Looking forward to spending time on this forum as an R18 owner.

Welcome. I have had my '21 classic for just over 2 weeks and put 1100 km's on it. Some basic modes and love it. Last ride was a BMW K1200S I have had for 20 years.

Welcome. It’s a beautiful bike and beautiful pictures. And we all want to know what a “Ribber” is before we let you sign up into our exclusive little club 😃.
I vote for someone who is obsessed with McRibs riding his or her cycle around in search of the next hit.

Thanks for the warm welcome! In ‘l33t’, a silly little code language only some Millenials/GenX probably know from the 90s, the 1 is an i and the 8 is a B, so I’ve been calling her the rib, I like the McRib explanation better though 😂
