I have a cross country,it's massive, but also a massive improvement !! With the original it was 1 hour max. With the cross country it's tank stop to tank stop, without the need to get of the bike in between... do like it a lot
Thanks for sharing the picture, I am planning to get one too. How is the passenger review for it. Did you have to remove saddlebags for installing this seat?

Hi,
both my sister and my girlfriend did like the passenger section of this solution...No, I did not have to remove the saddle bags, but then, that would not have been a major task to do... I have a very special, home-made, arrangement for the sadle bags on my Classic... did write something about that on this forum a few years ago...

I purchased the same seat as the one in the picture ( mine will be minus the pillion seat ). I never knew until I received it that it was a Mustang seat. Waiting for a chance to go for ride, certainly feels more comfy than the standard seat. BMW had in stock for around $270. easier for me to purchase new than send my existing seat for mods. Called a Solo seat by BMW. Anyone else tried this one?

To the ones that already have this seat. Is it really that comfortable? I need someone to give me a realistic take on it. I need a seat for my FE R18 and can't wait until February to have my Russell Day Long done.
My ass gets in trouble after about an hour and it ruins the enjoyment of the bike. I'm all ears!
So how many mustang seats are available for the r18? I'm not real happy with mine

Mustang is no longer making seats for BMW anymore. There are still some out there in dealer inventories and I have seen some really low prices especially on the Brown leather seats.
Really ,so how low and where ive seen one solo for 625.00 . Its a customer return.

Well I'm back with the standard seat for now. That Mustang seat was terrible, seems shorter than the std one and I just couldn't get comfy on it. I am going to use it as my base for modification with a local seat specialist, try and see if I can get extra height. At least the std seat stays untouched.

What do you mean by "shorter"? Lower to the ground (I think this) or closer to the tank?

I'll agree with the latter but not the former (about the same to me).
