The link is to a company in the Netherlands. That is as far as my info on supply goes.

Yes, the mufflers slip on the header Just need the correct diameter.

The basic Megaton, with the removable end caps, is unchanged since the sixties. Had a set on several bikes. When taking inflation into account they are cheaper now than back then.

On a side note I find it totally illustrating how society has changed since I started with motorcycles.
My 1953 Norton twin had peardrop exhausts much like the base R18s have. There was basically no muffling other than two baffles causing the gas flow to tumble.

When I fitted an SS cam and hc pistons, also fitted Megatons with the still standard straight through absobtion ´damper´.
Back then it only raised eyebrows if you would full bore through the neighbourhood during the small hours of the night. Now it is straight away universally fitted with an extra db-killer into the original damper.

Though very nostalgic and stupidly affordable, I like the original pear drop fish tails só much and also appreciate the original sound level. If I would go the bobber route though, a set of Megatons would be mandatory for me.

...and there was me observing that the standard damper in the Megaton is loud.

The header pipe is 52mm?

Did you use distance pieces to take the O2 sensors a bit out out of the gas flow-to avoid fault codes?

Have you ridden the bike with these tips on it yet? Crazy loud? Good tone or no?
Yes I have ridden it. They have been on the bike since last summer. They are not crazy loud at all, remember that the CAT's are in the headers. When you give it a full twist of throttle, it has a nice BMW bark. Not crazy Harley loudness or bark. Here is a small clip I made after I installed them. There is a bit of reverb bouncing off the factory walls in the street.....

Very nice and good point on the cats still being in place.

I suppose I could just remove the exhaust pipes and ride without them on for a bit to get an idea of what it'd sound with those small tips on. Then decide on whether to grab a pair or not.

All is relative ofcourse and yes, the cats are quite efficient ´mufflers´.
As to the level of sound, I think it is loud actually as it can be heard going into the distance even at this reduced throttle openings.
Again, all is relative and just about tótally depending on where one lives. Going into the desert it will be inconsequential and starting it up in the small hours of the morning in a built up residential area probably more so, consequential ;)
Though I live in the countryside, even a moderately ´tuned´ exhaust note molesting nobody will see me pulled over and fined disappointingly quickly. The flap servo delete is as far as I go 😓😥

Each to their own. Enjoy your bike.
