Sooo…I did an oil change and forgot to change the crush washer. Somebody tell it’s going to be okay, everything is going to be just fine. Ughhh.

As long as it’s not leaking, it’s got one (i.e. still has the old washer there) and is torqued up ok no worries. Just swap it out next time

I've done over 100 changes in my life and just reused the washer. No issues ever.

I have the same experience like Noel ... I keep re-using mine over and over ... never even gave it a second thought

Those crushable washer were suppósedly conceived as a step towards fool proofing against overtightening but the more obvious reason is selling replacement washers

A used washer is a bit thinner if you look close. I have re-used them on occasion and had no leaks. I bought a dozen or so recently, they should last quite a while.

But that’s the main argument for not re-using.
