De-Chroming Exhaust

Ok, so kinda-newbie here... BUT - What are the options for making the chrome on the exhaust parts black? Powder? Ceramic? Do they make the headers and whatever the star shaped part of the manifold in black?

It depends on how you want to go about it. Cheapest option would be to pull those heat shields off and paint them black yourself which is easy to do but may mean losing the chrome forever (mine after 1500 miles is already kinda chippy so maybe not the best chrome). You can also remove the heatshields altogether and wrap them in black but that will change the attitude of the bike to something more industrial and naked. If ya want to paint, go for engine block paint that is heat resistant and do it right, shouldn't take more than a day or two between sanding, painting, and drying.

Will ceramic coats handle getting hit? Depending on your local area, the road debris does a number on the header heat shields since they are the first thing to get it. Least with the engine case paint you can reapply easily and is relatively cheap,
