Does The Exhaust Need to Come Off

You guys have got to be kidding me. Nobody ever changed the rear tire or had the dealership do it?
Can you at least read the speedo so you know how fast you're going when you're passing everybody on the freeway because you replaced the stock air filter with the DNA brand?

You have got to be kidding me. Never thought of maybe looking in that little book that came with your bike? The one titled owners manual? The one which tells you about maintenance like how to remove the wheels?

All you had to do was to say yes, the pipes need to come off, or no, that it's not necessary. I had a legit reason that made me ask that particular question. Trust me on that.
I didn't appreciate your 'smart' remarks, Einstein!

All you had to do in the 4.5 hours before getting the hump that you hadn’t had a response to your original post, was look in your manual. BMW even have them online should you not have it in your hand at that particular time.
I didn’t, and I’m sure other forum members didn’t appreciate your ‘smart’ remarks either. Don’t deal it if you can’t take it 🤷🏼‍♂️

Y'all do realize that there are different manuals for the different models? R18 rear tire.jpg
This is the miniscule paragraph for the R18 TC.
If the rear wheel is anything like any other BMW's I have owned not only will the exhaust have to come off, but the left pannier and probably a couple of other things. Which I haven't really looked at yet. I have found a lot of useful info in this forum, and also found that some things mentioned in threads do not apply. I found that the thread on the rear suspension did not apply to the TC. Because........... Wait for it, TC has ESA! LOL imagine what
i thought after I asked about where the manual adjustment was located in the manual. LOL Shoot, the pages don't even match! I learned a long time ago "The only dumb question is the one not asked"

Hey oilhead, I always liked the looks of that silverish ice blue Montauk from '04. Spent time shopping for that years ago until I found a low miles Pacific Blue in near mint condition.

You make the first smart ass reply in this thread and then have a problem when someone else returns the favor? Good luck making friends here...

In order to change the rear tire?
2021 Base Model
I own a Model B, which requires the exhaust to be removed if I want to swap the rear wheel; I'm assuming the same procedure would apply for the Base Model. I always use the posted Motorrad Accessories Installation documents, which are extremely detailed and just about cover every aspect of my bike thus far.

The following link will take you directly to the Installation Documents: I attached the Wheel Set document for the Model B as an example:

Thanks for the links!! ... That is most appreciated

EDIT: I just downloaded one ... very nice! That is what I was looking for ! Thank you so much.

I never doubted the service adviser. We go back a little bit over seventeen years and he's a n A+ type of guy.
I was only looking for a document to show me that the exhaust needs to come off in order to make the tire change possible.
And now I have that thanks to you!

We are all perfect strangers here, with a few exceptions maybe...
Stop trying to be righteous and please the crowd in the process.

I hope we are all here, to some extent, for the "fellowship of the wind". Thanks to all who promote a "connection" here. After 27 bikes and 50+ years of riding this is a very good forum overall, especially for product info. (I've been a few).
