Good afternoon everyone,
I am the owner of a 100 years R18, it did not come with the DWA anti-theft/alarm from the factory.
Two part numbers keeps coming up for a retrofit application: 65751541294 or 77531541294
Now if I was able to find the correct part number, would I be able to just plug and play? I've read on some other BMW forums that some require a trip to the dealer, and some people on certain bikes and just plug and play. I did get a quote from my local BMW shop for around $600. Which is abour $150 or so over the cost of the unit. Which might not be a bad idea seeing I wouldn't have to have any guesswork, just drop it off.
I didn't see any threads with anyone saying they successfully did it, and what part number was used, or if they required a dealer trip. I've found threads referencing part numbers and potential cost, thats about it.
Saddelbags, engine bars, and aux lights+ windscreen are ahead of this project, but it's one I wanted to get my head around straight. Unfortunately BMWs website isn't as friend as say, Kawasakis for accessories, which is a shame, its way to complicated and time consuming to figure out all the parts and p/ns in order to do a simple accessory like the windscreen or aux lights.
