2022 R18 Classic
Hi i have read various blogs on the forum where the speedo binacle does not run through its start up procedure but sticks at various MPH . I have just had this problem , my Classic would not start and i experienced the problem i have just mentioned , i put a new battery on but it had this intermittant fault , the diagnostic check stated a loss of communication (LIN) local network information fault .However after a few days the problem seems to have disappeared and the bike starts and runs fine , could this be because you have interrupted the communication system when you disconnect the battery ? As the bike is running normal now i am reluctant to let my dealer check it out for £120 to say they cannot find anything , had anyone out there had the same problem ?

I haven't had any issues as you described on my 2023 R18 B; do you have a GS-911 tool, where you can scan the bike for error codes?

If not, maybe pick one up if you do your own annual maintenance and such; you'll be able to reset Service Reminders, and do a deep dive on any error codes that your bike is logging.

Had a similar speedo problem on my 2023 Pure. The speedometer went "crazy" - with the needle occillatiing wildly and sticking halfway. The simple fix was a new battery, making sure the terminals are properly fitted.
