Ufff, just got a call from the dealership. I need a headlight replacement because under testing they noticed a small rattle on the swivelling mechanism, so they know is bound to fail at some point. The good news is that they have the headlight unit in store but not the special bushings, however, they have ordered them and should be with them tomorrow. I asked them not to rush things and do the work properly, I have the loaner bike with me and therefore I am mobile.
The reverse gear was done and they are just finishing updating the software.
I kind of thought I was somehow immune to the adaptive headlight issue, but it looks like I am their 1st customer😒
Similar to my headlight. I had a slight movement of the light on the road, about what I used
to get get on older bikes. The adaptive function worked as intended & the beam was correctly
aligned, both dip & main. Bahnstormers at Farringdon checked the headlight during the annual
service, & replaced as it was showing signs of failing.

She is back with me now and they put a brand new headlight with the mounting grommets for better damping action.
The tech guy said it was ever so slightly the damage but it would have failed eventually. The reverse gear was also sorted. IMG_2586.jpeg

There was a firmware update because part of the consist of installing a relay and the ECU needs to know there is a new part installed. The OEM set up has the reverse module constantly receiving power, whether on use or not and activated when the reverse gear is selected. The new set up only gives power to the module once the reverse gear is selected, thus minimising the amount of time the module receives power. I also understand that the module itself is the same, just slightly improved to prevent moisture retention.
Funny thing is that it did not test the system when I got home, I totally forgot about it. I got drenched on my way home and my bike super dirty with salt and grime from the roads. Will clean it first thing and test the reverse.

The loaner bike was a spanking brand new C400 Max 😂😂😂
The GS they got me was too high for me and I did not feel comfortable.
Do not underestimate the C400. She is nimble and capable of developing and maintaining motorway speeds. I was travelling at 70mls/h for about one hour and she did not break a sweat. Fuel consumption is also very low. I saw 69.2mpg on the TFT. Heated grips and seat, sat nav, media and all the other creature comforts once is accustomed.
Made me think about getting something similar for my work commute.
