GPS electrical plug under gas tank

Just for clarity it is NOT the same size plug that was/is on the R12 series which is often listed as a GPS plug. This plug is a MID090005 plug. The plug on the left is from the R12 series with the blank socket from this one...

It's behind the OBD2 socket. No need to take the battery cover off. Red/yellow is live, brown ground. It is an engine switched live, so even with ignition on there is no power until the engine is running.

Hmm. My apple play thing does come on at power up, doesn’t have to have engine running.

I tested with a test light and a multimeter. It gave out 14.28v with the engine running.

The plug appears to be BMW part number 83300413582.

I used the spare connector next to the OBD port and the BMW repair connector (part number 83300413582) to hardwire the Quad Lock wireless charger. I routed the wire neatly under the tank, keeping everything clean and with minimal disassembly.
