That is quite a difference in style and handling. Don’t you think you will miss the handling capability of the GSA?

I like to hear his story. In the meantime, here is mine.
Your mindset, with age, changes. I had 3 of the R 12xx GS and loved the versatility: touring, twisties, off road. Did the MABDR about there times, up, down, from the middle down, most times ending at Barber Vintage Festival.
At 60 I decided I can tour slower, I don't want any more 'adventure' than necessary and I am fascinated by the simplicity of the R 18 Classic and the Beeline Moto II for navigation. Also, the 140-150 mile range is even welcomed today.

Would have to agree on those points. Just turned 76 and the height (I'm 5'8") of my GSA was always on my mind in off camber roadways or gravel coated drives. I do miss it's handling characteristics though and the long range tank. It is good good to dismount the R 18 and shorter intervals though.

I'm 5'6" on a good day. Totally understand you. My first GS was not a low model, both later ones were factory low.

5' 9" and always shared that same concern with my 2008.GS Adventure; that feeling of the ground not being there when coming to a stop ...

I sat on the GS Adventure 1300 at the BMW HQ event a couple of weekends ago; both feet touch ground pretty securely, mostly due to the adaptive height system lowering when approaching a stop..
