Hello everyone.
Few years ago I purchased a nice BMW R18 Classic that has not about 13k km on the odometer.
I am living in the French part of Switzerland where there are plenty of nice pass.
Happy to share experience with this "strange" beast. :D

Valken
Welcome! That sounds like great riding country. Share some photos, if you don't mind.

Welcome aboard Valken.
I have been tempted so many times to ride around Switzerland/Germany/Austria but so far it has not been possible. Mainly because my wife does not ride or goes pillion and also because I only get 23 days holidays a year and it would be selfish of me to pack my bags and go for a long jolly without her. 😁
One day, I reckon I will be able to do it.
Indeed, do post pictures or videos, it is a beautiful part of the world.

Here is a few pictures of the bike itself (close up) and one from Swiss alps (the motorbike was way less equipped)
More to come...

Hello Hammo.
The wiring of the GPS could have been straight forward, but it was not.
Technically, you can ask your delear to provide the splitting cable that plugs below the fuel tank and connect the GPS to it.
SKU number for this split cable is: 77 53 2 468 181
I believe this cable is used for the "Loudspeaker" that mounts on the handle bar.

Instead, I have made my own cable (that do not split) and that is connected to the same line on the motorbike.
Every aspect of the assembly is non destructive and can be undone at any time without leaving any damage.

Welcome. In 2019 I spent 9 days riding in your area up and over the Alps passes. Wonderful part of the world on 2 wheels.
