R18 100 Years
Hi, I'm interested if anyone has fitted helmet locks to their R18, specifically for 2 helmets! I'm not sure a cable type would be a good idea as I can image damage from the cable possibly being an issue... I see lidlox do holders that allow helmets to be fitted at the end of the handlebars, not sure if a helmet hanging off each end of the handlebars is going to be a good look on an R18 (100 years). ;-)

I would be interested in seeing what other owners do with their helmets or how they lock them to their bikes.... photos would be great to see!
Many thanks

Went lidlok but I’m a solo rider. Mounted on the right side. Love it.

Lidlox are the best - very clever and minimal. Bought a pair just to keep the bar ends identical.

Thanks Matte,
I must say the lidloc system appealed to me but the more I think about this the more I wonder if it is as good an option as I had been hoping! It seems easy to install and to hook your helmet to, but i'm wondering if helmets hanging upside down on a bike are such a good thing... I don't plan to take my bike out and park up in the rain but if I were out and there was a shower, then the inside of the helmet gets wet... a seagull can make quite a mess with a well aimed deposit landing on the inside of a lid!
I wonder now if I'm I over thinking this? 😩🙈

Yes, you might be overthinking it MikeSpain, but I like people who have good critical thinking skills. :) I think the Lidlox are a good solution for locking up your helmet when you're on the road - stopping for a stretch at a rest stop, to gas up or use the restroom, touring a national park, or a quick run to the grocery store, etc. - and don't want to carry your helmet around.

Helmet goes in with me in any circumstance where it might rain. And I try to avoid parking under trees!

The lidloc system is on my list of upgrades. It should be easy enough to keep a couple of flannel helmet bags in one of the saddle bags to cover them when they are locked up.

Seems I missed the boat! I was going over to California so I thought i would leave it and get them there... seems lidlox is closed, even tried phoning them when I was there and the same message on the phone! 'Lidlox is currently closed, Sorry for any inconvenience.'

Yeah, saw this as I’m getting a new bike and wanted another lock! Pretty bummed if closed means closed for good!

Sorry to hear LidLox are closed. Excellent product, I attached mine to the mounting screw for the brake fluid reservoir, it is discrete, easy to reach and I can put either my open or full face helmet over the right hand mirror, lock it and walk away. I have a Shoei modular and it requires the little extension bar which I keep in my jacket pocket at all times. My open face is a BMW lid, and it has the D-rings which slide in without the extender.

Forget what it looks like when the helmets are hang. They are secure and thats what matters.

Thanks for the link. I want it chrome but need two.

As such bought the one below and two extra T-things. Total cost €26.

I’m looking for two also and bought 2 of the same as you did… although the metal ‘blades’ do not fit my helmets, but the coiled wire fits through the flip of the helmet and round the handlebars then up between brake/clutch cables. Bit of a pain but I found it to be a solution!

The El Cheapo lock set works a treat and the T fits in all helmets. The two extra Ts are ever so slightly wider and fit in only fit in some. We can still lock two helmets onto the bike.
Set our wedding day as number, which also just about assures me not forgetting that 🫣

I just picked up a Panther cable lock from Bezos. I have a full-face helmet and can run the cable through the opening. I don't trust the ones that only attach to the chin strap.
