Dear Friends my dealer took my money on payment for a gas cap for my new just purchased R18 Here is the deal, nearly a year later they said " appears to be unobtainium ? " they have given me a shop Chit for the over 200.00 price I had paid ? Is that fair ? It seems to me they should have credited my Debit card for the full amount ? what do you folks think, I am not too happy about this ! ! jp

Not unusual. Refunding to original payment source after a while isn't possible, typically 30-90 days after purchase. Store credit is very common if the period is beyond the payment refund window. Beyond the payment processor limitations, it can also affect their books if it is beyond when their fiscal year ends so credit is very common.

Ask if they can use the credit for service? You'll need to do a 6K or 12K service soon anyway, so why not apply it to that?

While I was at the shop, I should have stayed home, damn Samn, I fell head over heels for the new R18 Bagger in Moon blue with the engine in black and chrome, how long can I resist ?????
