BMW R18 classic

Thank you for the add this is my 2024 R18 classic,.

The mods I have done are replacing the screen with a Wunderlich one the original BMW caused head buffeting and this one is much better and the engine guards from BMW, as the import costs worked out about the same.

I do have a question regarding the handlebars, at 5 foot 10 ( about 174 cm ) I have rotated them back a bit but I feel that I need some handlebar risers, about 20 25 mm. Does any one have any recommendations as the majority I see are for up to 2022. Thank you for your advice

Hey Colin welcome! I see you also have the option 719 badging, lovely looking bike!

Ditto on the Mustang Weekender seat as LBV mentioned, highly recommend over the stock seat.

Welcome, great looking bike (I am biased).

I looked at the riser issue myself last year and vaguely remember finding that something changed on the top triple that altered the fitment. It all comes down to the build date which I am guessing you have checked on something like a VIN Decoder. I doubt we have sufficient slack in the brake and clutch pipes as most risers sell a relocation bracket which seems a bit of a bodge on our lovely engineered bikes (personal view so not offence to anyone that has 😁). So you probably need to cost in new pipes to make it work properly. The pipes do not have the same internal diameter to create different pressures from the levers so unless you can confirm the manufacturer has matched the original I would go for BMW pipes. With all this I have been tracking the mini apes on the OEM Accessories page and they are now down to £324 (for chrome and £377 black) and that includes the new wiring harnesses and both clutch and brake pipes. Searching this forum yesterday I seem to have only found a couple of references to not having sufficient reach on the mini apes (pro bar) but have yet to ask what happens if you roll them back. I am thinking £324 is not to bad to remove a lot of hassle.
I agree with the comments on the seat I went with a Cross Country as I take the misses on the back a lot. It moved me up about 20mm and the same forward. The trouble is they are like rocking horse *** to find. It may be easier, as per Hunts comment, to ship your seat to be re-profiled over the winter. A few are on e-bay if you do not want to mess with your own original.

Anyway that’s a long welcome but you have joined the best source of info for our bikes bar none.
