Hi everyone - Got this beauty last Wednesday and drove it back from south of London to Hamilton. 10 hours. Gorgeous weather!

Crash bars on the way … that being said I’m a lot more confident with the weight as I’ve done around 1000 miles in a few days.

Overall - what a bike.

I think I’d like a new screen and lowers. I’m 5’11. A fair amount buffeting. Need to do a bit of research. To make sure I get the correct height.

Hopefully I’ll bump into a few other riders, but not seen many at all!

I also have the Model B, still have the stock windshield; however, I did install the fairing winglets and other TC attributes

Recently removed the engine drop protection bar and the lower leg wind protection found on the TC; I'm going back to its original simple look

Also consider the lower leg deflectors ( can buy at Aliexpress - very good copy of original BMW TC originals ). Mate just added them to his B ; extremely effective at reducing updraft of air / helmet buffeting.

Think I’m going to go with the powerbronze screen - midway between the two…

I would put the lower fairing winglets and lowers on first and you might be surprised that you may not need the higher windscreen. I was amazed at the difference in helmet buffeting after I put on the leg lowers - It transformed the bike for me.

Welcome, great choice and despite what some will claim they are agile enough to dodge our potholes at the last second. I have been to a few bike meets and events but so far have yet to see another R18. A Facebook forum for the UK has a map of owners locations and we seem to be fairly spread out.

Cheers. There’s usually a couple go to the big Glasgow bike night. But I am enjoying the rarity of it at the moment. Gets a lot of attention, which is always nice.

I will suggest you one of the first things, to protect the top of your panniers with PPF, one of the first things to do! One of our colleges in here add now the address for that!

Ah yes! I can do that myself actually, easy enough to buy the sheets. I’ve already put a small amount on the lower front forks!

That being said - getting a pro to do a larger more visible area might be an idea.

I’m lucky enough to have long enough legs that it shouldn’t be a problem (yet) .
