welcome tilley
I rode eastern bc for a week last summer with a local.he has 41 motorcycles all running.i was on a k75 rt ,really nice riding.slocan, nelson trail etc.every Saturday the locals get together by the orange bridge at emt station in nelson.they start rolling in about 915 for a 10 o'clock start.we used a inland ferry and I went to pay they explained all inland ferries all across Canada are free.the coastal ferries cost money.i exclaimed "its free".the guys all laughed and said yes we call it socialism.great group of riders had a good lunch .tilley thanks to all Canadians what a beauty of a week up there.
be safe

Hi, thanks for allowing me to join you all :) A foot injury has required me to move from a R1250GSA back into the cruiser world and my love for the boxer engines drew me in to the R18 with a heal shifter. I look forward to learning and sharing the joy this fine machine brings.
I just got my second R18 the first one was Great but decided I might need a lighter bike, traded for a 1250R damn that was a big mistake, missed the R18 right away.. Now with my new 2023 R18 I am with a heel and toe shif, I have never had this before and with knee injuries I have adjusted the toe shift and so far that is working, the heel shift will get attention soon...

I adjusted both and fit a wider peg to match the length of the front one. I then changed the peg rubbers to match.

So far the best solution to my Heel Toe pegs have been the addition of a larger toe peg " a lager peg that fits over the standard toe peg that came on the bike ! " this was from HORNIG !!! My attempt with an orderf from Wonderlich, arrived yesterday and puzzles me as it is odd in appearance and I have no idea how to use it ! ! I will check it out later today..... jp

I have the Hornig shifter extensions on my bike. Easy install and helps a lot. The only complaint is that the o-rings need to be replaced frequently.

I made a very similar mistake but traded my base R18 for a 1250RS, now I'm back into the fold with a Bagger, what an improvement over the base model!

I just discovered that my new R18 looks like it is missing the Hill Hold assist ? Can this be updated ?

I always wondered why there is no upper mainland.

Ask your local BMW dealer, I believe it's treated as an upgrade to the bike as it's an option and not factory installed. It's supposed to be a software update but I imagine they'd charge you for that.

Thank you so much, I will look into this very soon..... jp
