While watching a YouTube vid I came across a BMW motor that had been mysteriously discontinued.
It was very reliable and used in the K1600LT. Until this vid, I never heard anyone mention an inline flat 3?
 
I think you are referring to the K75 (750cc), which was a downsizing from the K100 (4 cyl, 1,000 cc). Great bike albeit a bit slow compared to the k100.

I had the K75S and it may have had a few kms less top speed, it was a lót quicker. It was imo at least on par with my later VFR800.
