Anyone installed a dash cam system as yet? Finding somewhere for the control unit is proving a challenge. Very limited room under the seat and that area is still exposed to dust and water ingress and is very close to the shock absorber.

I have had an earlier version of this on my K1600B for three years.
The control/monitor and GPS units are mounted to the handlebar, RAM mount, making it useful as a rearview camera.
Rear/front view, still picture or video record grab at your finger tips.
Water proof, just need to run and hide the wires and mount the cameras.

Delayed shut down or motion activated.
Have recorded some interesting conversations at the dealer for service.

Fitted all the ancillaries but now looking to connect the power supply. Absolutely no spare room where electrics are stored. Normally the negative terminal will have a black cable but on the R18 am I correct in thinking it is a brown cable? See attached pic taken left side of bike. In the manual this is said to be the negative terminal.

Just found a good explanation on the K Series forum. Seems BMW use brown for negative and don’t use the frame as any kind of earth. Consequently a lot of wires run back to the battery negative.

Check the owner/riders manual concerning jump staring, the battery is connected to the frame of the motorcycle and can be used to ground accessories.
All my acceories are connected through a PDM 60 giving a central connection and control point for 6 individual circuit breaker controlled circuits.
The control unit can be mounted in what ever conventent spot you can find.

Made my own relay controlled aux power supply panel 16 years ago for the R1200RT, PDM ^) did not exist then.
PDM60 is so much easier to install, and easily programmable.

On the UK market there is a similar item under the name Thunderbox. Max of only 32 amps though. Denali not as yet doing a CanBus module for the R18.

Fitted up. Not sure on position of GPS beacon as yet but easy to relocate. Will put together some pics and an explanation soon. Cameras are quite subtle and you have to look for them.

Back from five weeks away at my place of work. Innovv camera system now fitted and first road test coming up. Will update as soon as possible.
I suspect everything will go fine, but just in case ... I have noted trouble with the INNOVV system starting correctly on CANbus bikes depending on the trigger source. If starting the bike is delayed after energizing the ignition, the INNOVV always launches perfectly. I use my NAV recognition as the timer --about a 15 second delay.

I tapped into the power socket for the switched live with the other two wires connected directly to the battery. So far so good. If anyone needs pics or details of the install, I can post the same here.

Here are some pics of the best solution I have found. I did experiment with fitting under seat but space there is so tight. Unfortunately there is nowhere that I have found which is totally protected from water, dust and mud ingress.
My only disappointment in the Innovv system itself, is the speed of Wi-Fi download. Very slow. I still need to fine tune the system to stop it interpreting every bump as me having an accident.

Hi, are you happy with the Innovv K3? I am looking at the K5 or something helmet mounted.

Very happy with the exception of its Wi-Fi which is so slow you can’t practically download footage which means I have to remove the side panel and remove the memory card. Only takes a few mins but not possible if on the road.
