Honestly, save for what seems to me a bit of long turn in I am liking my R18FE. Granted they cost too much at the start then dropped prices like a rock. The stock seat sucked lol.
Though if you got one at the low price point I feel it is a great cruiser bike. It likes to rev low and you can feel some bumps if you hit them. Though otherwise, well plus limited tank size, she is a nice ride. Not many curve mountain roads in FL so not worried about lean angle abilities.

So, it has been resting up at my brother’s place by itself. Not getting the Love it desires from me. So, switched things up and left the GS up there and rode the R18FE base back home (100 mile ride). Was 79 to 88 temp wise…feels like 92/93 and on expressway did above 60mph to 70…lets say.

Not certain what the brake-in period is. Maybe like 420 miles on it after the ride thus far. Still trying to vary the rpm range now and again and not use the cruise control all the time.

Surprised these big jugs don’t toss ‘over heat’ icon on the speedo cluster yet. Sitting at red lights in this heat one figures is not great for the engine. Old school, no water cooling no less.

Do have a Madstad windscreen with Madstad lowers attached. Need to add the bmw cloth side bags. Wind protection is no bad though 3/4 helmet might need to be changed out for a full face.

Left the bike key at the house though had the spare prox key with me. Such fun to figure out where to press it on the seat so bike will let you start it.

I am being to appreciate how this bike feels on the road, gear changes/shifting. Feeling through the speed range.

Now if I can figure out what I see a Key icon plus a Battery icon below it on the speedo display that would be nice. Will find the manual and look into it

I take my proxy key & reach up under the rear fender to get the bike to recognize it. This has worked very well for me. Never cojld find the sweet spot on the rider's seat for the proxy key.

Morning, think you ought to read the manual. You need to change the battery in your fob, that’s what the warning icon on the dash means. Regarding your other thread, I live in the UK but always use what we call E5 super unleaded (5% ethanol or less). It’s a bit more expensive but I think worth it.
