Luggage Rack Disappointment

Earlier this spring I purchased a luggage rack (and back rest) from Roadstyler. It was, in my opinion, quite expensive but seemed well engineered. I attached a leather tool case to it which I carry some small things like a tyre gauge and other small objects. After a couple of months the paint was worn and it was rusting.

Ditch the whole thing... Rack and Back Rest, put your stuff in one of your side cases .. the above mentioned accessories only take away from the sexy look of the Model B...

I have installed the chrome version on my Classic.
Love the looks and will be keen to see how it wears over time.
I found the finish of the chrome to be good. But I guess only time will tell.
For the black I almost went that route but glad I didn’t now. Seems it is a painted not a black chrome or anodized finish.
Unfortunately any break in the finish will result in corrosion.

Did you reach out to them? I found them to be very approachable and when I wasn’t happy with the rider back rest as it pushed me too far forward they accepted it back no questions asked.

I went with the black for two reasons.. Number one it matched the general 'black' look of my bike and Secondly if there was a problem I could easily use a gloss rust paint to correct the damage, which I have now done.

I contacted them with very disappointing results. They clearly are trying to max profits by using paint rather than an anodizing finish.

Based on their shop I assume most businesses is with HD.
May be worth taking it to get anodized.
