Metal Filing on Oil Drain Plug

Changed my oil at 50000 km and notice two small metal filings on the plug, I change the oil every 8000 km this is first time I have seen a metal filings. The bike works great done a 800 km scoot the other day with no problems but concerned. Looking for suggestions, thanks in advanced.

I kept the old oil and submerged a magnet in the oil and didn’t find any metal filings.

Describe the debris recovered on the oil plug magnet; was it two pieces of fine grit, or something more like metal filings or shavings (i.e. hole saw debris)?

What was the mileage of the previous oil change?

Did you change the oil at the 600 mile break-in?

50 000 km!!! Holy $hit LOL ... if 2 little slivers is all you found ... they could have been there since assembly and now just finally knocked loose and got caught by the magnet ... IMO ... I think I would not worry ... but that is me ... you could change the oil next time ahead of schedule and have a really close look then ... if there is more ... I say you have a problem ... but I expect it to be clear ... but again ... thats just me

As others have said - I seriously doubt you have a problem.
I once changed the oil on a Suzuki GS850 I had years ago and I definitely found that I had a problem. There was a piece of a bearing race stuck to the magnetic drain plug. What a sick feeling. Strangely no odd noises or any indication that anything was wrong.

I changed the oil every 8000 km and the plug was always clean so I was concerned. Had good ride today so I will check the next oil change and hope all is good. Thx for the post.
