New name contemplated for the R18?

Does R18 translate into something odd in South Africa? It’s rare but over the years we have had a few cars (in the UK) that had a brand name that meant something different in an European or more remote country. Example Audi has an electric car called e-Tron on sale now. In French etron means turd. They don’t sell well here btw. I don’t understand the thinking otherwise.

Trick question. There are eleven languages spoken in South Africa. English and ten ethnic languages, of which Zulu, Xhosa and Afrikaans are most widely used. Most South Africans can speak at least two languages.

The competition is seeking to rename all five R18 models, perhaps more aligned with trendsetting H-D convention. When you fill in the online form, it notifies you that your suggestions have been submitted, but without an email confirming your submissions.
