Hello All,

Glad to be on this forum. Love the conversations I’ve seen so far and hoping to gain knowledge about this first edition and enjoy the hell out of it.

I’ve had my fist 700 mile service done, which was $300 and time is slowly approaching the 6000 mile service. I would definitely consider doing my own oil and filter change, but the manual says the valves get adjusted within this service interval. Knowing that I don’t feel comfortable doing this job myself, what are the prices I should be expecting from the dealership?

I think the service price can vary greatly. For example, there is a BMW dealer in Kansas City Missouri who has been in the same building since the 1960's. Their overhead is low and so they don't take it out on you for service fees.
A dealer who has recently moved in to a new building will have high fixed costs and will necessarily charge more per hour. At any rate, our bikes are expensive and so try to find a good trustworthy BMW service guy.
FYI....changing engine oil is not hard on this bike. There is a You Tube video that shows the details.
