no power ?

2023 classic
i purchased an adapter for usb that plugs into the shifting side of bike power outlet.
got nothing am i missing something?
it is wired i checked that already
 
Did you turn the bike on or just plug it in? It is not "hot" like an outlet hardwired to your battery. Also if that doesn't "wake up" the CANBUS, check to see if the fuse is good and the connector for the power outlet is fully seated.

Should be a "simple" fix.

i checked it while bike was running of course
 
Take the cover off and make sure the connector is connected. I think it’s just one screw

Are you checking the 12V DC socket with a volt meter, or are you using the newly purchased "USB adapter" with something plugged into it?

Perhaps verify the presence of 12 V with a volt meter or test light in order to rule out a faulty USB adapter.

BobW is correct about the CANBUS, it is a managed accessory outlet, which is limited to a maximum of 5A.

I use that socket in order to put my bike's battery on a trickle charger in-between each of my weekend rides; there is a connector behind the plastic cover, it might be worth checking that the connection is secure.
