My R18 leaves an oil spot after a ride. The spot appears to be near the back. Using a bright light while under the bike, there is no wet spot anywhere. On one hand I’m glad to find a dry bike, but the mystery is perplexing. The spot is nickel to quarter size. Could hot weather trigger a drip?

Byron ...Any chance, have you recently performed any maintenance and or fluid changes?
Can you provide additional location information as to where the drip spot is located, in reference to the bike and it's position and or side...?
Before moving your bike, search the ground surface for the said "oil spot", the fluid is going to drip straight down; however, keep in mind that the fluid could be traversing via cabling, frame, etc. before coming to rest on a low point and finally dripping...
Maybe use white toilet paper and dab the oil spot and try to determine if it is engine oil, transmission/bevel gear or brake fluid... NOTE: the BMW Transmission/Bevel Gear oil stinks to high heaven...very pungent...!!
I'm going to change the transmission and rear bevel gear fluid today on my Model B today; I'll keep your dilemma in mind while working on my bike this morning... I'll follow up if anything obvious comes to mind.

No recent maintenance. For now I am thinking a tiny weep spot during cooling can lead to a quarter sized spot.
