You also need to disconnect the servo cables from the servo exhaust cam wheels, two cables on each side of the exhaust:

At that now and the cables are pretty tight. Sofar cannot get enough slack to get the anchors unhooked from the wheel
Can understand that some simply cut the but want to avoid that.

You are saying that just loosen the adjusters all the way and the cables will no longer actuate the flaps? They will remain open? The flaps are normally open when the bike is off and the cables will be too loose to close them. Voilà!!! Does this achieve any real advantage other than disconnecting emissions control? More power, run better, etc?358278208_179281745124114_8952618695633534097_n.jpg

No I stated to remove the cables from bracket. You been drinking?

But the part about why, why do it unless it gives more power or runs better?

As the valves only close at small throttle openings, it has no effect on power.
1. It will have an effect on sound under those conditions as that is one eason why it is there.
2. The other reason is emission control. Keeping the downpipe full of gasses means those gasses burn all unburned CH off.
Right so what will keeping is open give you?
1a. Slightly more audible burble.
2a. This one is two fold. The slowed down exhaust gasses will pass more heat to the header et al so keeping it open will run cooler under those circumstances. The last one is obvious as the now not all burned CH will pop a bit more.

Thus keeping it open gives you:
- nice burble
- running cooler still
- a few extra pops

For me the cooler running is the crux.

I thought Petrus is saying that. My mistake. But the part about why, why do it unless it gives more power or runs better? Not drinking yet but maybe later. Cheers!
To remove the servos altogether ... now I can use a regular jack ATV and/or Scissor to jack up the bike like any other bike I had before ... there is no real performance difference that I can see ... the popping at 'Dynamic Engine Breaking' is a bit louder and the bike 'grumbles' a bit more in idle .. but really nothing power wise .. just very convenient when you do have to jack the bike up ... and I will have a cold one in a few as well ... cheers!

One bolt drops the entire servo unit. Now you have slack.
When I pulled the wires off I noticed one of the coil springs was split into two pieces providing no butterfly torque. So I grabbed some bale wire and wired it in the open position.
