I like the concept but way too big for my kitchen. Also, for that price I could get a decent second bike 🤪.
This would look cool in a petrolhead’s club house or funky bar tho.

Ahhhh, that is a nice man cave. If I had the room and above that, the disposable funds to splash on such toy, I think I would. 😂😂😂
It is more finished than that now. It took almost 7 years of small improvements and the bar was self made. I assembled the billiard table on my own to save money. Fortunately the basement was finished when we bought the house 11 years ago and has a full height ceiling.
The painting was done by one of the people who paints and designs artwork for motogp teams and I asked him to do one for me of Jack Miller. He has subsequently finished a second one for me and as he is in the paddock it is signed by Jack. Oh and he did one for me of Daniel Ricciardo in the McLaren Just need to get the second Miller one framed and hung.
I have a simple rule: all toys are paid for with cash. So it just takes longer to get there. And sometimes you can get lucky and find some good deals.
But the boxer espresso machine. Is way out there!

I hear you. It is a lot of dosh for a coffee maker tbh. With that kind of money you can buy all sort of funky stuff and make the place even more amazing. When I was married before, I made a man cave out of wood. Sort of like a wood cabin at the end of my backyard. I pelleted the place with things I collected on holidays, I also had a black marker pen by the bar and would ask all visitors to write on the walls their thoughts before leaving. As you can imagine, there was a lot of writing there, some really beautiful and deep, some others were humorist. I also bought a Polaroid camera and would take pictures of visitors and pin them to the walls. The place was so cosy and welcoming and full of memories. Low lighting, hanging lanterns, wood smells, small wood burner for the winter. Outside I built a pergola and planted two Boston ivys and a jasmine climbing tree that created a canopy during the spring and summer months and underneath the pergola I had a beautiful cast iron table , very elaborate with six chairs and cushions. When I got divorced, that place was one of the possessions I felt bad about leaving behind for the new buyer to enjoy. Have thought about doing something similar in my new house but it took me nearly 15 years to get it the way I had it and I am not a spring chicken anymore, plus I now have other priorities. Who knows, maybe one day.

That kind of money ...I can buy a lot of gas to ride to my favourite hangout and drink many, many gallons of espresso over the rest of my riding life!

Really??

At two Starbucks lattes a day the ROI is maybe 15 months.

Consumerism illustrated indeed.
Over here you get a very good espresso from a top notch machine for 1.40 - 1.50 € yet stíll the Starbuck have popped up and are thriving in the cities with foreign tourists.

I don't even want to know what I spend on coffee each year... Starbucks is smart, we have a Starbucks across the plaza at our HQ building, for one of the nation's largest police departments..

If I had to guess, it's probably North of $4k/year..

An expensive e61, not even a dual boiler..... but nice. ECM make nice stuff..... I run one at home.

Expresso machines are like bikes.... I have a few and roast my own coffee..... I could easily drop $25k on a Kees Van Der Westen if left unsupervised .....

Working out the cost effectiveness of home made expresso makes as much sense as it does for motorcycling versus the cost of public transport.

The BMW Motorrad market research failed to diagnose the market in USA for a cruiser, so they failed consequently.

However, the engineers did a fantastic job.

Now they want to make a few buck by selling a cheesy product which, will fail again.

Just my opinion and of course you are entitled to yours, but I don’t think BMW Motorrad wanted to conquer the US market, it goes beyond that. Here is what I think.

BMW is a leader on the adventure bike segment, has a huge presence on the touring market, it has wiggled its way into the sports bike market and naturally would like a slice of the cruiser market, where it did not have a presence until the R18 re entered BMW into that segment.
BMW builds all sort of bikes, HD and Indian for example, concentrate on Cruisers, hence there may be a perception that the R18 was targeting the HD wallet share or Indian. HD is indisputably the leader on cruiser bikes, love them or hate them and if I know that, so would the marketing folks at Motorrad.

Coffee machines? we need to leave that to the Italian guys, although the R18 Boxer themed coffee maker is one hell of a center piece 😂😂😂
They may have a surplus of engines casing/ write off or else, and maybe be turning into these surplus to sell a few unique coffee machines as a novelty piece.
