R18 TR top case removal?

I assume the smaller of these 2 connectors with red stripe is the rear topbox brake light ( round connector with yellow stripe for speakers ) ? Can someone with experience who has connected an extra stop light to prevent error code enlighten me ( ie: applicable led light that can be used ; for example can a Denali B6 led brake light module be used - has 3 wires ). The Denali B6 has a red, orange and black wire. I only want a stop light. So can l use the orange to existing positive for brake light , black to earth and ignore red wire which l believe is a running light ( 50%) ? Not planning on using a Denali CANSmart unit.

B6 LED light from Aliexpress ( $48 AUD for 2x units with posi connectors ; same style as 1x Denali B6 LED for $148 AUD ). Solves problem of error codes ( brake warning light ) and no operation of cruise control without top box in place.


Black wire from LED to brown wire on R18 and yellow wire ( stop light ) to striped wire for positive. The 3rd red wire from LED not needed ( running light ). Use posi connectors so original bmw connector can be left in place.

I did this same mod back in 2022. Worked fine, no codes.

Riding for first half hour - no codes . Then Brake fault code and lost cruise control. Hopefully just posi connection problem. Out for 300 km ride. Will check when home.

Problem rectified with soldering male spades on LED light wires and inserting into original bike plug ( female ). Posi connectors not providing good enough connection.
