Rear Strut Reservoir

I was cleaning up my bike for winter storage and noticed the rear strut reservoir had what I thought was road film on it. I started to clean the reservoir with soap and water and the paint came off. The suspension seem fine and I don’t have any error messages, just concerned some may have leaked out of the reservoir. Thoughts?

That's not good. I wonder if you threw something up from the road? I cannot think of anything in the reservoir that would peel paint like that.
 
I remember thinking the same thing while I was installing the ROCTANE filler panels on my Model B; but drew towards a conclusion, that the strut assembly was most likely poorly painted and rightfully so, as it is tucked away and out of sight...

You can get a pretty good look at my reservoir at about 16 min into the YT video:
