Evening all,

Can anybody tell me the location of the reverse module on a Classic?
I'm not really sure what would meet the definition of "module"; however, another forum member posted the below picture, which appears to highlight all components responsible for the reverse function:

Not sure if this answers your question..

The R-18 reverse does not have a module for engagement/disengagement, it is done mechanically by the lever. Look at above picture all mechanical engagement. The only electrics/module is for the lite telling you its engaged. I can't understand how a seal failure could cause problem with electrics resulting in fire.

Many thanks for the replies.
If I am understanding correctly, there is currently a recall for all R18’s equipped with reverse.
I read that it is the “electronic reverse control module” that needs to be replaced as the original one is a potential fire risk!
I am curious exactly where this module is located on the Classic.

My dealer mentioned this after handling my headlight recall. The service writer didn't have anymore details than what's already been posted other than BMW hasn't released the "fix" yet.

Where do you find illustrations like this? Somehow the smart guys on this forum have access to the good vids.
