Did the shop give rebate immediately?
My BMW dealership ordered the accessory parts on the spot for me, directly after the service was completed; for the Model B, I had to pay approx. $200 out-of-pocket to make up the difference for the Heated 719 Opt Seat. The First Edition recall work, was a wash as I ordered two pairs of the RSD Machined Hand Levers..

The alleged comp amount is USD1K.
I think Scott got 2K as he has two R18s.

I have seen a video from a fella in Melbourne, Australia, where apparently the offer was 3 years service plan for free as opposed to accessories.

How did you go about getting recall compensation? I have emailed BMW Motorrad in the UK 4 times now, they are utterly useless.
I imagine that the BMW serviced centers get paid directly from BMW for carrying out the recall-warranty work; maybe simply schedule a service appointment or perhaps ride over with the bike and see if they can squeeze you into their schedule - but don't agree to the disabling of the Reverse functionality until you have the compensation credit worked out..

Australian choices for disconnect : 4% $ value accessories OR 3 years service to the value of $1800 (Aust.).

Ahhh, I may have missed the choices in the video or the fella did not mention it. Is good to have a choice as in my case I have the 5 years plan so I would have been toasted if this would have been the only choice.
I have not heard from Motorrad UK yet regarding the recall and quite frankly, I think I prefer it that way. If my Reverse gear fails then I will be in touch with the dealership since the bike still under warranty until Oct next year.

BMW denied the rear drive failures for ever. Maybe they still are. I wonder how many fires were started before they agreed to a recall.

Response finally received. 4% against retail value of bike for genuine BMW Motorrad accessories. No idea what I'm going to go for yet ...

Did you receive the recall letter? DVLA does not have records of a recall on the R18.
I am not fussed about it, just curious as I would like to get hold of a couple of accessories but much prefer if Motorrad buys them for me 😂😂😂

No recall letter. I took to shop directly

I received a text about the recall, & phoned my dealer about it. The work was
done while the bike was in for service. The compensation is 4% of the price
you paid for the bike, less any accessories purchased at the time. Value of factory
options, adaptive headlight, active cruise etc, is included in the price. The money
can be used on any BMW accessories for the R18. You can't use it for the service
plan in the UK.
You order the parts at your local dealer who will deduct the compensation from
the cost & you pay any extra owed.

Thanks for the info buddy. Noticed you're in Hants. Do you use BMW in Lower Farringdon?
