Smoke Tinted Clear Coat On Chrome Valve Covers?

2021 BMW R18 CLASSIC, DARK NOMAD, FE, 2019 HONDA CRF450L
Has anyone done this? I want to see the chrome shining through a smokey clear coat! I can't be the first??? Any pics? I understand there are a couple ways to get this. Has anyone done high-temp translucent tinted clear paint? I'm pretty sure the clear powder coat isn't what I'm thinking of.

Do you mean something similar to the Black Chrome on the newer models?
